Thanks to a generous grant from the Target Corporation, A.Z. Kelley will be hosting a Family Literacy Night on Tuesday, April 16th. Each A.Z. Kelley student in attendance will be able to choose a free book! Additionally, families will have the opportunity to shop the Scholastic Book Fair during these extra hours. Information regarding community services will be available as well. This will be an open house type event. Your family may come anytime between 3pm and 6pm. The Southeast Branch Library will be set up in the hallway with information on Library Cards, services, and free programs.
For Hispanic Parents, Camille Carter Literacy Director at the Harding Place Family YMCA will have booth regarding a program she hosts for those families called “Coffee Talk”.
Cam Wingfield, our Family Engagement Specialist for the Cane Ridge Cluster, will be present to answer additional community involvement questions, and is a walking plethora of information regarding standardized testing and common core standards.
I will be there to field any type of Title I related information/ Family Resource Room related inquiries.
TennderCare will have an informational booth as well.
Class with the greatest attendance will get to update the classroom library!
