SIT Lead Title I Scheduling Updates
Emily Graves is the SIT Lead (School Improvement Team Lead) and FES (Family Engagement Specialist) for A.Z. Kelley ES. If you need information regarding Title I, please contact her at emily.graves@mnps.org or 941-7535 ext. 2110. The Community Room (located near the office at the front of the building) is open Monday- Thursday, and addtional days throughout the week. Please check the blog or voice recording for updated times and activities.

Community News
There is a PTA training every Tuesday (incl. tomorrow) at Mt. View Elem. PTA is offering free child care, free dinner, and free training from 5:30p to 7:30. I will be there. If any parent has reservations about going, please have them call or e-mail me.
Also, they have a drawing each Tuesday for gift cards. Tomorrow Cheryl Mayes, Chairperson of the Board of Education, will speak about the School Board along with a parent presenter. Please contact Mrs. Graves for the flyer if you are interested in more information.
(FYI- at 5pm they serve dinner to children and adults (though normally adults are still eating after the presentation gets started). It is OK to arrive at 5:30.)

We will get together in the Community Room of the brand new Cane Ridge Elementary School. MNPS Parent University will provide information about having meaningful conversations with your teacher and how you can be a resource to the school. We hope to see you there!

FREE ELL Classes for Parents!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the flyer for the FREE tutoring classes for the Hispanic community. This is the program that Ruth Saunders (kindergarten teacher at AZ Kelley)works with on Tuesday nights. It is at the Grandview Church of Christ on Nolensville Road. They have FREE babysitting and FREE tutoring. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them.

A.Z. Kelley Elementary Receives $1,500 Grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation
Grant to Support A.Z. Kelley’s Literacy Programs
Antioch, TN, September 5, 2013 – A.Z. Kelley Elementary recently received a $1,500 Youth Literacy grant from the Dollar General Literacy Organization to support its literacy programs. Specifically, the grant will allow for the renewal of Study Island for 3rd and 4th grade students in the areas of Reading/ Language Arts and Math Problem Solving.
