Title I Funds Survey Results FY13 for FY14

552 A.Z. Kelley Title I Funds Surveys were returned. (A.Z. Kelley has 705 students, but only one survey needed to be turned in per family.) Three attempts were made between April 26th and May 10th by the faculty. However, 132 (24%) were invalid due to parents either not choosing an option, or choosing both. Of the valid surveys returned, the majority, 90.1% (381), voted to use the funds toward the “School Wide” option. This was how funds were used during the 2012-2013 school year. Only 7% (28) requested the funds be used toward the “Targeted Assistance” model. (Please see the results of the Parent Involvement Survey for how parents ranked spending Title I money.)

At the bottom of the funds survey, parents were asked to visit the school website to review the School Compact and Parent Involvement Policy for the 2013-2014 school year. 52% (289) approve of the documents, .9% (5) did not approve (no comments were offered as to why), and 21% (114) stated they were unable to view the documents. (These percentages were taken from the total number of surveys turned in. Some parents still marked this section correctly, even if the top portion was invalid.)

Additional comments were as follows: more PI; more field trips; more academic clubs and exhibits throughout the school; send home progress reports to show student success under assisted programs; better teacher communication; tutors for all grades; buy school supplies for students to use at home
