How to Help AZK!
1.) Amazon Smile
Amazon Smile is a simple way to help AZ Kelley while you shop. Search AZ Kelley and select our charity which is listed as PTA Tennessee Congress of Parents Teachers Inc. Here are some more details about Amazon Smile.
What is AmazonSmile?
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization. You can choose from nearly one million organizations to support.
Can I use my existing Amazon.com account on AmazonSmile?
Yes, you use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, wedding or baby registry, and other account settings are also the same.
How do I select a charitable organization to support when shopping on AmazonSmile?
On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), you need to select a charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. We will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation.
How much of my purchase does Amazon donate?
The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases.
2.) Targer Red Card: Take Charge of Education
You can choose AZ Kelley Elementary as an attached charity with your Target Red Card. Target will donate up to 1% of your REDcard purchase at Target stores and at Target.com. Visit www.target.com/tcoe for more details on how to register your card.
3.) Box Tops for Education
Simply cut any Box Tops for education off of participating grocery items and send them into to your child’s teacher. Each Box Top is worth $0.10. Box Tops are sent off twice a year and the money is sent back to the school. Easy as that!
4.) Join the AZ Kelley PTA
For just $10 a family, you could be a part of the AZ Kelley PTA. We would love to have all families as a part of our PTA. This partnership between the Parents and Teachers has been running strong for ten years. It continues to host amazing events each year and raise money to improve our great school in ways that are best for the children.
All Pro Dad
This is such a great way to touch base with your child and have genuine conversation. A lot of people have asked if Tony Dungy will be there... the answer is no- he's just the national spokesperson!

The New "TCAP" for the 2015- 2016 School Year
From an email recieved today... just thought you would like to know. We will have a parent standards Q and A session in the fall, and your questions can be addressed then.
Thank you,
Emily
Beginning in the 2015-16 school year, TNReady will become the state’s new and improved TCAP test for English language arts and math in grades 3-11. It will provide us with more and better information about our students’ progress. The new TNReady TCAP tests are designed to assess true student understanding and not just basic memorization and test-taking skills. TNReady will measure student understanding of our current state standards in English language arts and math, not the previous SPIs.

KINDERMUSIK – “The Gift That Lasts a Lifetime”!
Just passing this on...
KINDERMUSIK CLASSES WITH AMY ALLEY
VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY/BLAIR SCHOOL OF MUSIC
Summer 2015 Beginning June 16
Busy Days! Newborn to 18 months with a parent or caregiver
Busy Days celebrates the rich lives parents and children share. Be inspired as you discover new ways music can help your busy days be easier, happier, more musical days. Whether it’s to the doctor’s office or the park; to splash in the water or bounce on grandma’s knee, your repertoire of on-the-go, attention-getting songs and rhymes will grow. This class incorporates the most current research on early childhood development and provides families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement.
Wednesdays at 11:30; 45 minute class for five weeks
SING AND PLAY! Toddlers 1—2 years with a parent or caregiver
It’s a musical celebration of new movement and language skills. Sing and Play is a non-stop playfest that stresses the developmental value of predictability, repetition and play. A mix of adult-child activities provide parents a unique opportunity to participate in music and movement fun, but also to stand back, observe and revel in how these older babies and toddlers are beginning to walk, talk, sing, play, clap, tap and dance – all on their own. Families receive access to online activities and music for extending the learning at home.
Tuesdays 4:30 p.m.; 45 minute class for five weeks
ZOO TRAIN! 18 months to 3½ with parent or caregiver
The MOST popular Kindermusik summer curricula! Your toddler and the train are a natural match - always on the move. Bring your own stuffed animals for the petting zoo. Wear long white socks on your hands for polar bear paws. Sing songs for clapping time and use music to help toddlers regulate emotions. This one on one time will give your toddler the love and attention he/she craves.
Wednesday 10:30 a.m. or Thursday at 6:00 p.m.; 45 minute class for five weeks
LAUGH AND LEARN! 3 to 5 years (parent/caregivers join class the last 15 min. for Sharing Time)
Kindermusik offers your preschooler the BEST of everything! We’ve got social, emotional, early language, and motor skill development covered, plus your child get the added benefit of music permeating everything we do to get those neurons firing! Preschoolers thrive on pretend play so Kindermusik classes include songs, stories, and instrument ensembles to nurture your child’s budding creativity. With cognitive, emotional, and social benefits, a Kindermusik class is the PERFECT place for your preschooler.
Wednesday 12:30 or Thursday 5:00 p.m.; 45 minute class for five weeks
FAMILY TIME multi-age class (birth to age 5) For single-child families as well as multiple young children)
Each Kindermusik family class is a happy shared experience full of singing, moving, cuddling, family jam and more. Tuition is “per family” rather than per child. You’ll love the time to explore, discover, share, make friends, and just be together as you learn and play together. From newborn to Grandpa and everyone in between, there’s room in a Kindermuisk family class for everyone! Family fun is the best fun with this curriculum designed for the entire family. A family class opens the door for learning and music-making in new ways that are possible only in a mixed-age environment.
Tuesdays – 5:30 – 6:15 p.m.
Wednesday 9:30 – 10:15; 45 minute class for five weeks
Class Information – Instructor, Amy Alley, 293-4181 or amy.alley@vanderbilt.edu
