Wonderful All Pro Dad today!

September 27, 2012
Dear Parents,
Thank you to everyone who attended the All Pro Dad Breakfast today. There were 47 dads and 63 children who signed in (29 of whom are new to A.Z. Kelley this year)!  Hopefully, you found there were several improvements such as enough food and much more space! A couple of fathers said they would like to have the introductory video next time to make generating the conversation with the children a bit easier , so we will try to have that set up.   We truly appreciate you sharing this time with your children. That is not always a small accomplishment, though we all wish it were.
I would like to say thank you to Kroger for providing us with more than enough food, drinks, and supplies. Mr. Webb, the principal at Marshall Middle, has blessed us with the opportunity to use their cafeteria. This program would not be able to happen without help from Cam Wingfield, the Cane Ridge Cluster Family School Liaison, our principals Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Bateman, Lynette Meyers, and of course Jeff Salyers, the All Pro Dad speaker. We have several Arabic and Spanish translators who help things run smoothly as well: Amal Rasheed, Luis Del Rio, and Raquel Hinojosa.
The October meeting will hopefully be the best yet, as this program is ever growing and changes are made. We will be inviting the media to the October 25th meeting, and we have spoken with a former Titan, Jonathan Orr, who would like to get involved with us as well. Please join us to make sure this next breakfast has the largest turnout so far. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know!
Sincerely,
Emily Graves, A.Z. Kelley, ESEA Planning Facilitator

Importance: High

Hello,

Attached is information from one of our community supporters on their FREE program for Hispanic parents with children ages 5 to 7. They will continue enrolling families through November 2012, and the program lasts for a year. Please feel free to share with anyone you think might benefit from this opportunity.  Due to size restrictions, many of you were having issues opening the files. I am resending the information without the attachments. Sorry for any confusion/inconvenience this has created.

These are great resources to share with teachers and parents.  Also search for resources by language for NELB families.
