Emily Graves is the SIT Lead (School Improvement Team Lead) and FES (Family Engagement Specialist) for A.Z. Kelley ES. The Community Room (located near the office at the front of the building) is open Monday- Thursday, and addtional days throughout the week. The MNPS Department of Family and Community Partnerships invites you to register for Family Matters: Engaging All Parents for Student Success, our Second Annual Parent Engagement Summit.
This full day conference will be held on Friday, November 8th, at the Martin Professional Development Center, from 8 am to 3 pm. The keynote speaker is acclaimed author Eileen Kugler, who is a national leader in engaging diverse parents in education. Additionally, we will have over 15 professional development workshops on a full range of topics, including:
• Engaging parents of English Language Learners, gifted students, students of color, students with disabilities, and at-risk students.
• Partnering with grandparents raising children, fathers, and divorced parents
• Sharing student performance data with parents and supporting student learning at home
• Creating welcoming schools
• Innovating practices for communicating with families, including the use of social media
• Recruiting and managing volunteers
• Partnering with community organizations for school success
