Academic transition can be challenging to students and families. There are new requirements and new concerns for both students and parents. For these reasons, on Saturday, February 5th, we will present a collection of workshops designed for parents of 4th grade students, middle and high school students, and those just entering college or pursuing other options. The event is offered to help parents with the transitional years of middle school, high school and beyond. It will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.

We will have informational sessions on such topics as, The Achievement Gap, College Access, Act Test Strategies, Gang Awareness, Exceptional Ed. Transitional Services, Parents as Partners (Spanish Sessions only), 9th Grade Academy & Small Learning Communities, Social Networking of Teens, Parenting 301, Suicide Prevention, Kids on the Block, and many more for families. There will also be booth guest offering a wide variety of information.

Please make plans to join us for a light breakfast, informative sessions, activities for middle and high school students, community partner booths, door prizes, and other incentives. This event is free and open to all families.
